Strong and hygienic with a variety of surface colours and textures

FiberCore is an innovative solution that combines the best of two materials: the wide design possibilities of laminate and the robust appearance of compact laminate. FiberCore consists of laminate bonded to a Compact Density Fibreboard (CDF) core.


The core is a high-compressed fiberboard made from recycled wood fibers and binders, pressed under high pressure and temperature. This results in a board with higher density and increased impact resistance compared to traditional chipboard.


FiberCore features a slim 12 mm profile and is available with any laminate surface from the range, along with ABS edges. The solution is a cost-effective alternative to compact laminate, offering improved durability and stability compared to laminate with chipboard.

Properties

Product properties

Cleaning

Daily cleaning is done with a damp cloth. Avoid excessive use of detergents/sulfo products, as it may result in a greasy surface. A mild universal cleaner may be used to remove stubborn dirt – Alternatively we recommend HORN Surface Cleaner.

Colored foods and liquids should be removed immediately, as they may cause discoloration.

Maintenance

Laminate is wear resistant and require a minimum of maintenance. Laminate is resistant to common household chemicals and cleansers, but not to strong acids and bases.

Scratch resistance

Never use sharp objects directly against the laminate or linoleum surface; instead, use a cutting board. Avoid materials such as pottery and pots made out of cast iron as they can scratch the surface.

Abrasive cleaning agents such as: Scouring powder, steel wool or corrosive cleaning agents must not be used.

Scratches in unicoloured and/or smooth surfaces may be more visible.

Sink integration

Undermounted sinks in FiberCore

Sinks in our range are undermounted in laminate. The board is milled to allow the sink to be mounted directly beneath the 0.8–0.9 mm thick laminate. The bonding is so strong that the sink can withstand a total pressure of up to 150 kg.

Note: Flange visibility may occur. A sink cannot be undermounted in laminate better than the quality of the sink’s flange allows.
