HORN's mission
History

From thought to action

In the early 1990s, HORN’s two founders, Karl Nielsen and Ove Jørgensen, had an entrepreneurial dream: they wanted to set up a worktop factory in the heart of Jutland that could challenge the established industry.

Karl’s wealth of ideas and Ove’s pragmatic approach were combined with a shared enthusiasm, a strong work ethic and a firm belief in the future. This enabled the fledgling business to grow rapidly, and HORN became known as the industry’s unconventional manufacturer – producing high-quality worktops and possessing the courage to think in terms of new, creative solutions.

Today, HORN still has its roots firmly planted in the Jutland soil. The only difference is that the company is now one of Europe’s leading worktop specialists.

Etablished in a small garage with very big dreams

    2000

Perfect duo with an entreprenereurial spirit

Karl’s wealth of ideas and Ove’s pragmatic approach proved to be a powerful combination. HORN grew rapidly and became known as an unconventional manufacturer of high-quality worktops offering creative solutions.

    Denwood by HORN is founded

With Denwood by HORN, offcuts from worktop production are given a new lease of life as tables and interior furnishings. Production takes place, amongst other things, in collaboration with local authorities and job centres, providing people with reduced working capacity with meaningful employment opportunities.
    2020

    HORN Academy and E-learning

2020 was the year in which the coronavirus changed our normal way of working. We therefore had to find alternative ways of teaching and advising our customers. We used Teams and e-learning for our HORN Academy.
    2023

Factory expansion – new logistics centre and in-house stone production

The factory in Aulum is being expanded by 4,500 m² to accommodate in-house stone production, a larger logistics centre and new administrative facilities. Stone production began in June 2023, and HORN now occupies almost 20,000 m² in Aulum.
    2025

    New director across two companies

On 1 March 2025, Ole Madsen will take up the post of Chief Executive Officer of both HORN and its sister company Fog & Venø, thereby succeeding the founders. This joint management structure will foster closer cooperation between the two companies, whilst each retains its own production and specialisation.
