Product information

Properties with granite

Cleaning

Daily cleaning is done with a cloth wrung out in clean, warm water.

Maintenance

The surface of granite is porous/open and for initial and ongoing care you can use a stone oil that will make the stone less susceptible to stains.

For thorough cleaning, Q-Action is recommended.

Granite:

Granite is acid-resistant and can withstand most cleaning agents. A sponge or brush with water and washing-up liquid can be used to remove grease and the like. However, contact with alkaline products such as chlorine and popular cleaners such as Cillit Bang can cause damage to the surface polish.

Scratch resistance

Always protect your worktop by using cutting boards.

Granite:

The material is scratch resistant but varies in strength due to naturally occurring differences in quartz content. However, kitchen knives and other sharp equipment can permanently damage the slab.

Heat

Granite:

Can withstand short-term heat, but hot pots and pans easily exceed the limit. Excessive heat can draw grease to the surface and leave a stain. Always use coasters.

Liquid

Granite is generally resistant to liquids.

Strongly colouring liquids and food can discolour the surface and should be removed as soon as possible.
